Today we’re delighted to announce and share with you all the completion of our prestigious project, based in Colchester, Essex, for our repeat client, Jardine Motors Group. Lanview have carried out countless projects for Jardine previously, with Jardine once again choosing to work with Lanview based on the exceptionally high standard of work we carry out, and the subsequent strong relationship we have developed with their team over a sustained period of time.
Commencing last autumn, this complex and detailed fit out project for a luxury super car dealership under the Jardine umbrella comprised of two main phases, each one fully utilising the skills and knowledge of our highly experienced team.
Phase 1 of the project involved relocating and clearing the existing furniture from what was a previous car showroom, before removing or demolishing the existing internal office glass partitions, solid partition walls, ceilings and flooring. We then oversaw a full refurbishment at the detailed specification of the client. These works included provision of new glazed and solid partitions, new glazed and laminate doors, ceilings and flooring to create a brand new sales area, office areas, toilets and staff room. As well as the latter, the works also included the full installation of M&E consisting of specified bespoke lighting, air conditioning and heating, audio visual concepts and screens.
Both phases of the project were undertaken while the dealership remained trading, and we were fortunate that the layout of the building enabled the works between Phase 1 and 2 to be split fairly evenly, allowing us similar timeframes to complete each phase.
When it came to Phase 2 of the project, our team concentrated on another previous showroom, offices and Atelier areas, conducting similar works as carried out in Phase 1 (removing existing internal office glass, solid partition walls, ceilings and flooring), before commencing a full refurbishment, including creating a new sales office area, a high specification Atelier area, a bespoke Heritage library, lounge and bar. As with Phase 1, this phase included a full M&E install involving specified bespoke lighting, air conditioning and heating, audio visual concepts and screens.
Lanview also undertook the external works, including the creation and installation of new entrances, spraying of existing curtain walling to the old Bentley dealership and a full repair, and the preparation and spraying of the existing cladding panels to all areas of the new dealership.
Joel Burt, Quantity Surveyor at Lanview, says of the project:
“It has been a truly fantastic effort from all involved and we have only got to where we have with a total collaborative approach from all parties. There have been a few challenges along the way, with a particularly detailed and in depth CI brief, which incorporated some new elements. However dealing with these collectively, from the design team right through to the client, has enabled us to handover a stunning dealership.”
The completion of both phases and the overall project has been deemed a great success, and we are pleased to have once again fulfilled the brief to a high standard for Jardine.
