Here at Lanview we’re delighted to announce the appointment of Gavin Skelly, our new Operations Director. We chat to Gavin as he explains what his new role involves, his career background, and what made him want to come and work at Lanview…

What did you do/where did you work prior to joining Lanview/career background?

Prior to joining Lanview I had a varied array of roles working in contracting, consulting and client side. I have worked for Tier 1 Contractors and global PM companies. I’ve worked for high end property developers and housing associations. These roles have given me the ability to understand how the construction sector works and where the risks lie. Being able to navigate those risks is crucial for any contracting company.

What does your new role involve?

My new role involves front-end strategic planning and risk analysis, resulting in a more controlled and risk-free delivery when onsite. I am of course very client facing and have built strong relationships with Lanview’s existing client base, and brought in some of my own client contacts who I feel could benefit from the way Lanview operates it’s business.

What are you currently working on?

A variety of contracts from new build to refurb and office fit out. The build-to-let market is growing, and my residential experience suits this type of construction, so I am hoping to expand Lanview’s portfolio into this market, while continuing to service Lanview’s existing customers with a excellent level of service backed with a strong certainty around delivery of their projects.

What appealed about working at Lanview when it came to applying for the job?

People buy people! Meeting the owners of Lanview was a great experience, and I felt that they had a staff base who could use my help but would also be willing to work with me to achieve their goals. This certainly seems to be working as we have a really cohesive team spirit in a relatively short time, and trust is growing that this company could really reach new levels.

What do you enjoying doing outside of work?

I am a very busy father of 3 so a lot of my time is dedicated to family life which is great. We live in Milton Keynes which is a great place to raise a family and we feel very lucky to have so many great facilities on our doorstep.

Thanks Gavin, and welcome to Lanview!
